Birthday Card
Birthday cards today reflect upon your social status and age. Today for younger people the cards tend to be more racy with someone of the opposite sex on their half naked saying some crude humored joke. While once you hit the cards for the people in there 40’s they turn into more jokes about their age and body image. By making jokes and seeing funny pictures it helps make aging less stressful and less frightening to think of.
What I've Learned
In the past few weeks we have ran through some chapters and surprisingly I have learned a lot from them and that they are very interesting.
In the first chapter we went over I learned about the history of psychology. It was a very interesting chapter learning about the two earliest forms of psychology schools. I learned that the person who first established psychology as a science was Wilhelm Wundt, back in 1879. Wilhelm later on took his studies into a structuralism approach. By learning about Mr. Wilhelm Wundt and the two earliest forms of psychology school it taught me what psychology has been based off of and branched upon.
In the second chapter that we went over I had learned about the various methods psychologist’s used when study thing; such as case studies, surveys and many others. Once I read over what each of the different ways psychologist use to study I began to reflect upon my sciences classes and realize that the majority of the studies I have already done just didn’t know it in the process. Out of all of the methods used to research and study the survey way is one most commonly used amongst everybody in society, whether its from a 2nd grader using it find the average time a classmate plays outside to a senior who needs to do a survey about the student body.
In the third chapter that we had read I had learned the effects of Nature, Nurture, and Human Destiny. This chapter was by far the most intriguing ones to me, learning about twins and how even though they can be miles apart they are still very much alike. In class we did a survey on what the age was you preferred to date, for women the majority of us said older and men the majority said younger.
The most intriguing thing I found in the past three chapters was about the twin studies. Even if the twins have never met in their life, were separated at birth or shortly after and they can still show a lot of the same choices as the other twin had made through out their years of living is remarkable. Even though the twins ended in homes that were complete opposites of each other’s, they still showed similarities in their choices.
Question 1: Being born in two separate worlds basically how can the twins still have strong similarities?
Question 2: How can a child have the same personality of a deceased parent even though they had barely known them?
Question 3: Even though fraternal twins were separated at birth and one was female and the other male, would they still make similar choices in what they did for a career?
Poem
Similarities and differences have understanding why is the challenge.
Making sense of how and why we think and act as we do.
In our minds lay the answers.
Levels a analysis are formed by many factors.
“Everything is related to everything else.”
